Why listening and speaking?
Listening and speaking are more important in pre primary classes.
Kids, they learn through listening and imitate what they heard. Especially for kids listening is more important to develop their vocabularies,
They speak out what they heard.
In my class, every time before the start of my lesson
I start by letting kids to listen to sounds and rhymes.
Listening and speaking involve more then analyzing your ability to talk and hear from other people.
Listening is about what you learn from external and speaking is about presenting information and ideas what they heard.
It also shows how you can adapt from writing texts to presentating them on speaking.
What I have noticed in my class is students who are exposed to more listening are good at speaking.
For example a boy whose parents are educated, knows more vocabulary then the boy coming directly from a village.
So what I have noticed is listening is more important during their early age.
Later if we want to become a good speaker we should listen alot and
The steps I have taken to teach listening and speaking
are....
1. Teaching rhymes with action.
2. Telling stories.
3. let them listen to stories.
4. Reading high frequency words aloud
5. Teaching vocabularies through pictures.
